FFPO (Fish farmer producer organization)

KVK Lakshadweep, in collaboration with the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and the Union Territory Administration, is actively facilitating the formation of Fish Farmer Producer Organizations (FFPOs) in Agatti and Kiltan islands. This initiative aims to empower local fishers through collective action, improved market linkages and value chain integration. By organizing fish farmers into structured groups, the FFPOs will promote sustainable fisheries management, improve post-harvest handling and ensure better access to resources, infrastructure and financial support. This strategic move marks a significant step towards inclusive growth, economic resilience and foster self-reliance for the coastal communities of Lakshadweep archipelago.
