During 2021-22, KVK-Lakshadweep and Coconut Development Board, Kochi worked jointly on organizing skill development training on coconut climbing, regional awareness meet, handicrafts training and field days.

Under the Friends of Coconut Tree (FOCT), 60 coconut climbing machines were distributed by attending the six day training on advances in coconut cultivation. FOCT was implemented in Kavaratti, Amini and Kadmat during this reporting period. A skill development training on handicrafts was organized at Kavaratti involving 30 participants representing from six islands. During the regional awareness meet at Kavaratti, a Welfare Society for Coconut Climbers was launched which is first of its kind in Lakshadweep.
