>During this reporting period, KVK initiated the popularization of IIHR varieties by distributing seed kits to farmers across six islands benefitting to 824 farmers.

Pineapple as an intercrop in coconut gardens

The demonstration of Pineapple as an intercrop in coconut gardens was initiated at a large scale by KVK duringthis reporting period.

Best OFT’s and FLD’s for scaling up

Under the OFT, Chilly variety Arka Haritha yielded (14.98t/ha) and the incidence of leaf curl virus was very low when compared to the farmer’s variety.

Mandatory activities

The mandatory activities of KVK viz., on farm trail (OFT), Front Line Demonstrations (FLD) and trainings were performed as per the action plan 2021 22.
